Main Duties

  • Leading in the analysis, review and documentation of client requirements
  • Leading in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of systems
  • Ensuring that software is developed with strict adherence to standards as well as client specifications
  • Defining software development project scope, timelines and allocating resources
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather project requirements
  • Conducting system demonstrations and training for technical and non-technical users
  • Taking full ownership of software development projects
  • Leading in the provision of user support for all systems (inhouse and off-shelf), timely escalating issues where necessary
  • Developing and maintaining software documentation, user manuals and training materials
  • Identifying, evaluating and keeping abreast with new software development technologies
  • Effectively mentoring junior or middle level Software Engineers
  • Managing the development, configuration, deployment, and integration of software solutions
  • Full stack software development

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any relevant field. Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in software programming using various technologies (C#, .NET, PHP, Laravel, Java)
  • Sound knowledge of proprietary and opensource database management systems (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB)
  • Experience with one or more front-end development technologies such as ReactJS, VueJS, AngularJS or jQuery
  • Experience in mobile application development
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics
  • Knowledge of best practices in software development, including data security
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
